Typography as part of publicity or neon lights has become an integral part of public space. Cultivated for art as word sculpture, it transmits information and evokes associations for individual imagination.
The word sculpture “sie forschen” (“they are researching”) should be installed at the edge of the roof. This position of the far-visible sculpture refers to the sight axes from the railway station and from the rails.
“sie forschen” (“they are researching”) is a statement which the employees of the Centre for Biochemistry and Molecular Cell Research can identify themselves with. It will attract the attention of passers-by. Who is researching? About what? How? Questions arise, they evoke interest and give space for interpretation.
