This work originated from the competition “exchange and transit” Hamburg Neuallermöhe, Kommunikations- und Kunstverein Allermöhe e.V., Kokus e.V, 2007
The existing bridge is entrance and exit of the district, a specific place where street and water are crossing respectively overlapping each other. In our project the “Exchange Machine” winds itself from one side of the bridge to the other and clips itself mysteriously underneath.
It interlinks horizontally the traffic area and vertically nature and architecture. The Exchange Machine integrates people directly, it animates interaction. Communication and exchange become possible without crossing the street.
