On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Reventlou Elementary School in Kiel 2006, the glass wall was to be renovated and designed by artists.
We designed a glass wall with a length of 10m and a height of 3m which connects two parts of the building. It encloses the entrance and is in addition a passageway for pedestrians.
To evoke the impression of sunshine, we attached horizontal strips in fine gradations of yellow on the glass elements. The clear geometric design makes reference to the architecture of the building with its brick façade.
A synthesis of light, views, transparency and reflection brings a friendly and warm atmosphere to the Reventlou Elementary School. During the day, with changing light the wall modifies its appearance.
